large blue and gold leaf abstract painting for living room

Elita Zarqa

1400 USD – SOLD

Elita Zarqa is Aramaic for Blue Forest, and the painting earns the name. Long vertical streaks of cobalt and ultramarine run down the canvas like tall, narrow trunks, or rain falling between them. Threads of real gold leaf rise through the blue, brightest near the top where the color opens into pale silver-gray, then fading into deep navy at the base.

The effect is depth. The top of the painting feels open and bright, like light coming through a canopy, while the bottom settles into shadow. Because gold leaf is reflective, the painting changes through the day: soft and muted on an overcast morning, glowing when the sun or a picture light reaches it at an angle.

At 24 x 30 inches, Elita Zarqa was made for a living room wall above a sofa or console, a bedroom, or an entryway where it can be seen from across the room and up close. The blues sit comfortably with white, gray and natural wood, and the gold leaf warms up a cooler room.
